Uniting a World of Services Under One Plus

Solutions Group was a huge collection of specialisms and services. They had one business for turfcare, another for golf courses, another for civil engineering, another for habitat protection… and so on. If you had a construction, maintenance or landscaping issue, chances are they’d be able to fix it.

They’d grown to the point where they needed an overarching brand to unite these services. This would not only create more belonging and coordination between their teams, but also show clients the full breadth of what they could do, allowing them to cross-sell and grow more easily.

But to bring all these services together, we needed to find the thread that ran through every single thing they did – from the boardroom all the way to the teams on the ground.

Solution

We audited the business on every level, reviewing their capabilities, interviewing staff and workshopping with team leads, to uncover the group’s common values, principles and practices.

What we found was a common culture of added value: whether it’s mowing grass, laying brickwork or fixing faults, their staff always overdeliver. They don’t just get the job done: they go above and beyond what’s expected with a range of extra benefits and services – from being on-call whenever you need them and engaging with the local community to flagging risks well before they happen.

We made this incredible work ethic the value proposition of the whole group, giving them a new name, Solutions+, a new tagline, “We bring the +”, and a visual identity brimming with energy. 

Then it was a question of re-aligning their brand architecture. Their different business units were all re-designed under the new brand, but each one would now be listed as a sub-service on their website, instead of a separate company. And to make sure visitors could quickly find the right specialism for their needs, we restructured the site with plenty of signposts, a simple UX/UI navigation and a clear user journey from start to finish.

Result

With one simple symbol to rally behind, every employee now has a clear idea of what unites the group, allowing the whole business to push in the same direction, with more cohesion, efficiency and coordination on every level. 

And now that clients can see that Solutions+ is a one-stop shop for all their construction, maintenance and landscaping needs, the group is winning business more seamlessly.

A plus for their culture, a plus for their operations and, ultimately, a plus for their profits.
